The End...But Not Of This Blog

I am sorry to say that me and my wife are getting a divorce. But at least notionally we have agreed to joint physical custody of my daughter. I am in the hiring process with Kaplan University and I look forward to bringing you some new and fascinating posts. Thank you for all of your prayers.

Update, 2/19: Well it looks like I spoke too soon. Shannon still wants a divorce but she is not ready for it. If anybody can tell me what the hell that means I will donate a body part to you. As usual I remain committed to the marriage and very, very confused as to what my future holds.

  1. I'm sorry to hear that Morgan, but still best wishes for all three of you.

  2. Congrats on the possible job. Sorry we haven't been able to return your calls lately. Life has been crazy with Adam's surgery, ER visit, recovery, and now the arrival of Baby A with pnemonia. Jason has intended to call you every night but we've been up taking care of sick and hurt kids. Hopefully he'll be able to call soon! Lots of love!

  3. Thanks Renae. I received a phone call from Shannon last night that confused the hell out of me.(I am not trusting my intuition right now but it sure sounded like she was doubting the divorce) So I could really use some advice whenever you have some free time.

  4. Morgan:

No one who doesn't know what the underlying issues are can advise you, and you certainly don't want them discussed on the internet, but I'd be surprised if you're feeling any more confused than your wife is about what's happening.

Go to ALL professional sources, inside or outside the church, for counseling. Be willing to let her choose the counsel if necessary. You have everything to gain, and nothing to lose if you don't even understand what enemy the two of you are struggling with.

  5. Morgan, I haven't stopped by for a while, and I'm sorry to hear the news. I posted on a program called "Marriage Fitness" a while back. You might find this interesting.

I've found it helpful, but we still have our ups and downs too. I need to keep doing the things I learned.

  6. Thanks MH. It turns out that wanting a divorce but not giving a time frame simply means you are waiting for the papers to be served. As I was today.
